3 On Your Side: Recall Round-Up For January 7th
by Jim Donovan
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
Consumer Reporter Jim Donovan tells us all about bad books, dangerous kiddie items and ski products in this week's
3 On Your Side recall round-up.
First up are bad books.
4,100 children's books are being recalled because these touch books have a plastic container with beads inside and if the plastic breaks, young children could choke on the beads.
Here are the details:
The recall involves the Amazing Baby Look and Play Book, the Amazing Baby Touch and Play Book, and Rattle Rattle Board Book. They were sold from May of 2003 through November 2005 for between $6 and $16.
Take these books away from your children and call the manufacturer, Advantage Publishers Group at 1-866-748-3731 to obtain a refund.
Next up is toy trouble.
12,000 kiddie toys are being recalled because the toys contain small wooden pegs that can come loose posing a choking hazard to young children.
Here is what you need to know:
The recall involves the Little Tree Mini Learning Cube and it is an 8-inch square wooden box with a different activity on each side. The cubes were sold at Target stores from June through November for about $15.
Take this recalled toy away from your children and return it to the nearest Target store for a $15 gift card.
Finally, unsafe ski boots.
2,300 pairs of ski boots are being recalled because the boots can crack making them unsuitable for use.
Here is what to look out for:
The recall involves Scarpa t2x Telemark ski boots models 142045 and 142046. They have dual color ankle cuffs and t2x marked on the side. They were sold in September and October via mail order and on the web from the Black Diamond equipment company.
Stop using these ski boots and contact Black Diamond at 1-801-278-5533 to receive replacement information.
